I’m here in Madison, WI and the big day is tomorrow. While I’m suffering from Ironman brain (according to my husband) and a wide range of emotions I’ve been pretty calm about the whole process of packet pick-up and bike check-in. Ironman brain is (apparently) described as easily distracted, lack of listening skills and easily excited at some of the most random things related to Ironman (I.e. “Oh, look there’s the lake. I’m going to swim in there!” Or, “Ah! It’s the capitol building, I’m going to run by there.”)
Anyways, the potatoes are cooked (see my Ironman Nutrition Secret Weapon post if that comment sounds weird to you), the water/Gatorade bottles are filled and my Garmin watch is charged. I guess I’m ready to go and cross this race off my bucket list. My goal is to enjoy the day as much as possible and just finish the race. It’s easy to compare yourself to everyone else, but I need to focus on swimming, biking and running my race and not worrying about anyone else.
Here are some photos of the past 24 hours of exciting Ironman activities.
